2009 Workshops 10 am Asatru 101 Asatru is a modern reconstruction of the indigenous religions of the pre-Christian peoples who lived throughout Scandinavia, Northern Europe, England, and western Russia from ~700-1000 AD. It is also known as Heathenry, Norse Paganism, Folkish Heathenry and Theodism and attempts to revive these ancient religious practices based on Norse myth, ancient culture, written lore, archeological evidence, and modern communal/personal practices. Come listen to Stephanie as she speaks about how our Gods and Goddesses, Ancestors, and Nature combine to create a modern religion with a foot in the past. 1 pm Pagan Parenting 1 pm Tarot as an instrument of Wisdom The Tarot’s symbolic teachings guide us toward greater insight into our own lives, and, as Tarot authority and innovator Rachel Pollack has explored, the cards can also be instruments of wisdom for questions about eternal mysteries and societal challenges. In this session, we will explore the idea of wisdom readings and do a reading to explore how collectively and individually we can better serve the Earth. Participants should have a basic knowledge of Tarot and while I will have decks to share, it would be great if at least some participants brought their own decks. For more nearly 15 years Carolyn Cushing has played with, meditated on, and explored the Tarot. She is currently teaching and co-facilitating a Tarot Play Group at Awen Tree in Easthampton, ma. For more information, please see Carolyn's blog at www.artofchangetarot.com 3pm The Nine Principles of Celtic Spirituality with Ellen Evert Hopman What are the basic principles of Celtic Spirituality?
